Just to check in...

Showing off our crate full of apples. (This is pretty silly, I know)
Tyler, hard at work.

It's fall in Philadelphia, and that means Apple picking! We went apple picking a few weeks ago, and I thought I would post some photos.

Happy Fall!

We're Still Here!

Friends, Family, and Fans,

Much as happened since the last post, including the wedding (we hope you all had a great time). Photos should be avialable next week, and I will post the link as soon as I get it.

For the time being, a quick update. We had a great honeymoon and fun trip back across the US on Amtrak, with a slight delay in Indiana. (Long story...) We made it to Philadelphia a day later then planned, but otherwise all was well. I received a job offer while we were on the honeymoon (Hurrah!) and now am happily working at MGA, Partners in Old City Philadelphia.

Tyler is working in Baltimore until the end of July, then will be moving back to Philadelphia. We will be moving on August 15th. We plan to send out the new address some time soon. The 'new' apartment was built in 1889 and designed by local architect Frank Furness(See photo above). It's a little more space, and a few blocks closer to Penn, so we are pretty excited about the move.
We will try to update the blog every now and again, so keep checking in!

Something Old, Something New...

Tyler's mother, Mary Orrison, was a San Antonio debutante in 1967. In addition to having glamorous long white hand gloves, and meticulously styled hair, Ms. Orrison had a beautiful dress detailed with lace of flowers and leaves.

After our upcoming ceremony on June 5th, when the cathedral length veil will be retired until the next family bride, I will don a hair ornament featuring this beautiful lace. The final design has yet to be determined, but I assure you, it will be fabulous!

Something Old...Something Borrowed

In the wedding, I will have a few very special items which were graciously lent to me by family. One of these items is a cathedral length veil, made of Belgium lace, which is a Steveson family heirloom. This veil was first worn by my mother's cousin Mary Francis Teahan at her 1960 wedding at St. Patrick's Church. Cousin Mary Francis has since been the caretaker of this veil, which was worn by my parents, countless relatives, and most recently my cousins Kim Perich and Marion Gammill-Keller.

I am SO excited to carry on the tradition of wearing this veil at our wedding.
